Something that struck me recently and it wasn't in a professional scenario; is that people who don't expect much never give a lot. This mantra is relative to your ability to reach your goals. If you attend an interview 'for practice' or 'out of curiosity' or 'to see how it goes', that will shine through. To convince a decision maker that you are the right person for a job you have to be convinced yourself in the first place. Aim high and give plenty personally and professionally.
