Description
Playgroup environment for parents with preschool children (0 to 5), to come along, learn and socialise with their children in a relaxed atmosphere. Free. The ‘Learn Through Play’ Playgroup is an opportunity for parents with children ages birth to 5 years to access a range of learning and engagement activities in a child focussed environment. Parents can come along with their preschool children and enjoy a quality playgroup experience, supporting children to learn new skills in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. At the same time there are opportunities for adult community education specifically tailored to the needs of participants.
These may include:
• Spending time with other parents/families
• Building one’s own capacity and skills to support young children’s learning
• Engaging with Community Services
• Social Interaction and building confidence and communication skills
• Investigate a pathway to further learning or employment
• Developing basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Introduction to computing and accessing the internet
