Children Incorporated
Description
Providing resources for children in need, because we passionately believe that children everywhere deserves education, hope, and opportunity Jeanne Clarke Wood established Children Incorporated out of her home in Richmond, Virginia in 1964. After visiting Guatemala, Mrs. Wood witnessed personally the deprivation of the children of the country. Upon returning home, she began writing letters and seeking assistance for the 95 children whom she had met on her journey. This became the first Children Incorporated project. After subsequent trips abroad, the program began to flourish and expand.
Today, Children Incorporated has programs in the United States, Asia, Africa and Latin America. In working with already established schools, orphanages, and child care centers, Children Incorporated facilitates sponsorships, maintains several special funds, and manages special projects on an as-needed basis.
