Meet at Fort Tuthill for a quick breakfast and depart to the South Rim of Grand Canyon! On foot, you'll spend three days experiencing first hand one of the seven natural wonders of the world! Dropping nearly a mile into the canyon you'll see a variety of rock layers, wildlife, and a barrage of different types of plant life while witnessing a great deal of the geologic and natural history of the Colorado Plateau. After reaching the bottom via the South Kaibab Trail and crossing the Colorado River by bridge, you'll spend a night alongside Bright Angel Creek and enjoy a relaxing evening resting and exploring in camp, along Bright Angel Creek, at the Phantom Ranch lodge, or watching the sunset from the banks of the mighty Colorado River. The following morning, after breakfast and hydrating to prepare for the days hike, you'll set off to start your climb up the Bright Angel trail exploring a different section of the canyon and taking in the breathtaking views surrounding every step on your way to the Indian Gardens Campground. Spend your afternoon at Indian Gardens exploring the surrounding area and relaxing in camp to help prepare for the final hike out of the canyon in the morning. The final morning, after breakfast, you'll start your final exit out of the canyon noticing your pack being much lighter that it was in the beginning! With water stations (depending on conditions) to stop and rest at after 1.5 and 3 miles, the 4.5 mile exit from Indian Gardens to the South Rim will fly by! Once you've reached the top, take a moment to catch your breath and look back over the broad expanse of the canyon you've just conquered before having lunch on the rim and loading up to head back to Flagstaff and Fort Tuthill. This is a strenuous trip requiring a bit of self care, constant hydration, and most importantly honesty about your physical condition and abilities. It involves 3 days of self-assisted backpacking carrying everything we need to enjoy ourselves and survive in a very remote wilderness setting. If you're unsure about your abilities or any medical condition please feel free to reach out the OAP staff at Fort Tuthill with any questions/comments/concerns and we'll be happy to help!

Experience the thrills of white water rafting on the Colorado River through the last 53 miles of Grand Canyon on your choice of a three or four day trip! After meeting in Flagstaff at 6am for a quick breakfast and discussion about gear, safety and expectations we'll drive west toward the river. A few hours later we arrive on the shores of the mighty Colorado River where your river crew will be ready and waiting to launch on your wilderness expedition! Take your pick from a relaxed and exciting ride aboard one of our oar boats to a more engaging and thrilling seat paddling alongside your friends and family in a paddle boat! As we make our way through the canyon keep your eyes open for wildlife and all of the amazing views that come with the unique geological features you're traveling through. Along the way, your guides will be happy to share stories and knowledge of the natural, geologic and human history that runs deep within the canyon walls. Throughout your time spent on the water you'll make many stops to experience waterfalls, caves, side canyons and interesting historic locations. At the end of each day, sit back and relax on the beach as your guides prepare dinner and share more exciting stories and interesting facts about the area. If all goes well, and weather permitting, sleep under the stars and let the rumble of the river lull you to sleep. Each morning will start with a coffee call and breakfast prepared by your guides, and after a short talk about the plan for the day we'll push off into the current for more excitement and scenery! Once we've passed all of the major rapids, for our final day on the water, we'll tie all of the boats together and spend a day spread out and relaxing as we motor through the flat waters at the upper reaches of the Lake Mead Recreation Area. After a final night on shore sharing memories and stories with your new river family, we'll have our last breakfast on the river and push off to meet our vehicles at the Pearce Ferry Boat Ramp. From here, we load everything onto the trucks and head back to Fort Tuthill! This trip can be extremely exciting and rewarding but does require some levels of physical exertion. In addition, we'll be on the water in a very remote wilderness setting with little to no contact with the outside world for the duration of the trip. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to reach out to the OAP staff and Fort Tuthill and we'll be happy to help! See you on the river!

Nestled deep in the pine forests on the Grand Canyon's North Rim lives a mountain biker's paradise called the Rainbow Rim. This multi-day cycling adventure will satisfy everyone from the most avid to the most novice mountain biker with breath-taking scenery, unforgettable trails and amazingly comfortable camping at a truly spectacular site. Embarking on this adventure begins from Fort Tuthill as we transport the participants, their bikes (or rentals if needed) and all of the supplies for the weekend on the 5 hour journey to a remote location on the North Rim overlooking the majestic inner canyon. Once we arrive at our destination all activities will begin and end from our base camp with tents, kitchen, camp toilet and everything you would need to relax, make bike repairs or simply re-coup from an awesome day of riding. The Rainbow Rim trail consists of over 22 miles of beautifully designed and maintained single track which winds between the dense forest and the canyon's edge giving the rider fun turns mixed with awe-inspiring views guaranteed not to disappoint. Depending on the skill level of the group the trail is usually broken down into a series of short manageable rides and typically we have the personnel to split the group into skill levels to provide a more technically satisfying experience for all. Our guides are all trained professionals who are familiar with the trail, the area and competent in first aid, bike maintenance and any other situations which may arise in the back country. This trip is known as the southwests must ride amongst the mountain biking world and our Fort Tuthill version of the experience rivals some of the most prestigious commercial guiding companies.
