Lots to do to restore the Lighthouse to the mid-late 1920s, during the Shaw Era. (Andrew Shaw was our longest tenured keeper at 26 years.) Outside work is pretty dramatic, but the paint and repaired/cleaned windows also add a sense of forward movement. Stay tuned to keep up on the changes.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL FREE PRESENTATION AT TREC 11/20, 10-12 Climate Change and Penn’s Woods - What Does the Future Hold? Join us at the TREC on November 20, 2017 for a presentation on climate change by Greg Czarnecki in Room 112 from 10:00-Noon. As the climate changes, plants and animals have three options - adapt, move, or die. This is already beginning to happen in many places across the globe, including here in Pennsylvania. This presentation will look at the current and projected impacts of climate change on our native species and forests, and the challenges and opportunities conservationists face in helping to ensure their survival. No fee or registration. Greg is a climate change and research coordinator for the Pennsylvania DCNR. He currently oversees the development of DCNR’s climate change mitigation and adaptation plan.
