North 40 Outfitters
Description
North 40 Outfitters is a family owned and operated retailer with locations in Montana, Idaho and Washington. We outfit work and play. We’re people who work and live in the upper most regions of the Northwestern United States. Beautiful country and wonderful people. This land and these animals are a big part of who we are, how we work and how we play. North 40 Outfitters works hard to offer products and services that fit our lifestyle.
Our goal is to provide high quality products, selected for value and usability. Products we try and test and use in our own homes. We don’t just stock the latest thing—we take it out and put it through the paces. We climb into the new ranch hammock and clock that siesta. We bring our dog Douglas to the office and let him try the new bed. That new sprayer? Tested. Golden Triangle approved. If we get a fly reel and line, we take it out to the North Fork and punish it. We gauge true performance. If we don’t believe in a product—we won’t promote it.
It’s not complicated. We’re real, down-to-earth people. There’s no hidden agenda. We’re just here to help you find the best solution, the best products on the market. That’s a promise. If we put our name on it, if it’s in our store—you can be sure we stand behind it. We’ve made our name by building a brand the locals trust, and that’s quality you can count on for years.

facebook.comAnd here it is: our top 5 products from the ATA Show this year. 1. Victory Archery’s new Xtortion arrow meshes 304 stainless steel with high-modulus carbon fiber to create what Victory calls a “whisper quiet, small diameter arrow, with extreme kinetic energy for unparalleled impact force.” 2. Mystery Ranch is offering a great new pack design for 2018 and it’s something I see myself using in northern Idaho and Montana this year. The Pop-Up 18 and the Pop-Up 28 feature a unique “Overload Shelf” on a small daypack design. The Pop-Up 28 weighs 4.8 pounds, has a volume of 28 liters, and is perfect for the minimalist hunter. 3. The Garmin Xero is easily one of the most innovative products at ATA 2018. This sight serves, at once, as a rangefinder and a bow sight and works out to a distance of 100 yards on game and 300 yards on reflective targets. Your shot is aided by an LED pin that is only visible to the hunter. 4. Mathews just introduced its new Triax bow for 2018, promoting it with the tag, “Stealth is Lethal.” This bow is 28 inches from axle-to-axle, offers a six-inch brace height, has an IBO rating of 343 fps, and weighs 4.4 pounds. 5. The Mountain Hauler is built to last a lifetime, and offers all the cinches and ergonomic considerations you’d expect from Sitka, including three densities of foam in the suspension. It will be available in two cammo patterns, Sub Alpine and Open Country. Click below to read about these products in detail and find a BONUS pick from Rocky Mountain Hunting. Aiming a bow at a target resting a few yards away doesn’t exactly mimic an actual hunting situation. But it provides an opportunity to draw, hold and release a string, and that gives an educated shooter a pretty good idea of how that bow might perform in the field. That’s exactly what the North 40 hunting team did yesterday, walking the isles at the Archery Trade Association’s 2018 show in Indianapolis, shooting the bows we were most excited to see. And this is what we learned—in the past year some bow manufactures made incredible improvements over previous models, and all of the bows we shot are, arguably, better than any bow you could have found on the market just five short years ago. Here’s a rundown of the bows we liked best after testing more than a dozen. Any of these would be a joy for you to shoot, and all would make a solid hunting tool, whether you’re pursuing big whitetails from a tree-stand, stalking antelope in plains terrain, or going high in the mountains for moose, mountain goat, elk, bear and mule deer. If you’ve considered building a small-scale farm and embracing the homesteading mindset—whether that means a few cows on an acre, or merely a couple chicken coups in the backyard—North 40 Outfitters’ Farmstock 2018 is the place to be. That’s because, on March 10, we’re inviting local breeders, ranchers and farmers to to showcase their livestock and offer knowledge and suggestions at every North 40 Outfitters location in Montana, Idaho and Washington. Vendors may sell their trade or livestock while they teach people how to get started on their new adventure. For those who may have attended previous Farmstock events, this version will set itself apart—we aim to educate and impassion our communities on the homesteading lifestyle, a way to be self-sufficient and actively engaged in raising and growing their own food. If you attend this year you’ll likely walk away with the tools and knowledge (and maybe a few chickens or lambs) to successfully start your own backyard homestead. Who’s invited to Farmstock 2018 at North 40 Outfitters? We want to bring two groups of people together at Farmstock: the people with animals to sell and knowledge to give, and those who may want to begin with backyard homesteading.
