Our Presbytery of Geneva WV Mission Team returned this past Saturday from another successful trip to West Virginia. The team’s mission work involved building a handicap ramp, installing a new kitchen sink cabinet, and plumbing hot and cold water to a new kitchen faucet. The Presbytery has a long history of mission work in West Virginia. This photo is from April 2010, and many of these faces could be found on subsequent trips, including last week's. #flashbackfriday
On Tuesday, September 26th a Community Panel Discussion will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the church with representatives from the Rochester Regional Coalition Against Human Trafficking. Dr. Celia McIntosh, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, currently chairs the organization. She is passionate about increasing awareness about human trafficking, ending human trafficking and becoming a voice for policy and social change in the fight against trafficking. Joining her on the panel will be Melanie Blow, legislative advocate regarding children's issues. She will share her experience organizing and empowering survivors and advocating for social change. Pastor Daria Roesch, children's pastor at Edgewood Free Methodist Church in Rochester also joins the panel. She is a member of the Edgewood Abolitionists, a group dedicated to the fight against human trafficking here and abroad. Also joining the panel is Jeremy McLean, staff attorney at the Worker Justice Center of New York. The community is invited to join the conversation and help raise awareness of the issue. Our church schoolyear kicked off on Sunday, September 10th. We enjoyed Walt the Balloon Man, games, and hot dogs! Sunday School meets every Sunday during the 10:00 a.m. family worship service from September-June. For more information, call 315-331-2255.
God made covenant with all creation and all creatures - let us honor that covenant together! Bring your beloved pet - with water, a leash for dogs and carrier for cats (to keep them apart), and each animal will receive an individual blessing. Rain date TBD.

One year ago today, we celebrated the baptism of four cousins at the same time. Here, the cousins are pictured with their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. What a happy day!

Our Chartered Organization Representative, Seth Burgess, examines the Pack 138 flag before leading six Cub Scouts off to summer camp at Camp Babcock-Hovey BSA. Looks great!
