New beginners class: Tuesday 20th Feb 7:00 - 8:30PM. Winston Churchill Gardens, Lower High Street, Cheltenham. GL50 3JA. Adults 16yrs and over. No experience necessary. All levels of fitness (or lack of) welcome. Loong Mang Pai is a very friendly training environment. We place great emphasis on learning and like to encourage students to have fun as they learn (as you will see on the Introduction to Shao Lin 5 Animals opening night). No competitive contact sparring (the techniques are too dangerous), but plenty of self defence and fighting application practised in a safe and controlled environment. Please message me if you are interested. Sifu Dave Godfrey
Hey Guys. Thank you very much for sharing the post for the new beginners class. I really appreciate the support. Can I ask a small favour? If you haven't already, could you please change the privacy settings from friends only to public? Thank you Sifu

How far down a new page do you generally scroll? I have recently been talking to some of the newer followers to our page and they mentioned that they hadn't seen the 30 blog posts, but once they knew they were there they went and read them and really gained value from them. Have you seen these posts? If not, why not scroll down to the first one and work your way through. I'm sure you'll find some value. Please feel free to comment or ask questions. I would love to hear your feedback.
Life is too hard. The key to optimal health and happiness is balance and harmony. Modern life is pretty 'full on' and we can feel at times like there is no balance. It is all or nothing. Work 'or' play. A life of extreme opposites. T'ai Chi is about balance & harmony. Yin & Yang. Hard & Soft. Internal & External. If you feel that you could benefit from more balance in your life drop me a message to find out more about our Cheltenham T'ai Chi class.
How are your New Year resolutions going? I don't mean to be rude or patronising, but February is historically a good time for a reality check. By now, good intentions have turned into excuses and unrealistic wishes, and goals just seem like too much effort. One of the main reasons for this is that people have a habit of wanting too much and setting too many goals. These goals turn out to be impractical, and once they quit on one, the rest are usually not far behind. Before you know it you have written them all off and they are quickly forgotten. If you want to make lasting changes in your life it is a good idea to begin with something that is relatively easy to start and stick to. Achieving one victory will motivate you to do the next, and the next. The secret is to form good habits rather than punish yourself and make yourself feel bad. Discipline is great, I'm all for it, but if you feel like you are making too great a sacrifice you will almost certainly give up. All is not lost. It's only February and you have 11 months left, plus a lifetime ahead! Make a commitment to one thing. Something that is easy to do, that will make you happy, and give you a sense of achievement. Maybe the first thing on your list? Maybe the first thing on my list??? We are taking enrolments now for our new beginners class which opens in two weeks. More details will follow over the next few days, but feel free to message me sooner if you are interested and I'll put your name down. The real new year starts now. Happy New You.
A fantastic white sash grading today. The standard was phenomenal for a first grade. I was particularly impressed with the amount and the quality of the questions afterwards. Everyone took on board the feedback and expressed a genuine desire to take their Kung Fu to the next level. Well done Nick Miles, Ruth Watson, Kevin Joyce, and Peter Anderson. You far exceeded my expectations. Keep up the great work. Happy Sifu
