With hundreds of people already register nationwide (13 locations), and good dry weather forecast, it promises to be a cracking day for a walk in support of Jack & Jill families. Last minute online registration still available at www.jackandjill.ie/upthehill but, of course, you can register on the day... if that suits you best :) Registration is €16 (1 hour of home nursing care) and with all registrations Bank of Ireland (leading sponsor) has pledged to add €4 to every €16 registration. The main summit stands at 309 metres or 1,014 feet above mean sea level, and there is another peak about 10 metres lower and 400 metres away to the west/south west. From the 12 O’Clock Hills much of County Clare is on view including West Clare, the Burren and the Shannon Estuary while locally Kilkishen village, Cullaun Lake and Steele’s Turret are prominent.
