facebook.comA Class in Session Teacher reads the poem ‘Excuses, Excuses’ & the children have been asked to imagine & improvise what it would be like to be in Blenkinsopp’s class! Laura is a senior student & she illustrates how a teacher-in-role can help to guide the children through the drama. This gives the teacher some control while allowing the children freedom to express themselves through the fictional lens. The children come up with a very entertaining drama with a very unexpected ending! Spaces are available in Castleblaney for the new term starting on September 18th. New students can try two classes before you commit to the full term.

I am excited to launch the training of speech & drama teachers for the very first time. Former Rossmore speech & drama students that have completed grade 10 are now being given the option of doing the Associate Teaching diploma course. These trainees will be assisting me with classes this year. FYI there are a small number of vacancies in the Castleblaney venue including the senior class which is for secondary school students. Children from 5 years are accepted. Parents interested in the Clones or Monaghan venue can be added to the new cancellation list.

Good luck to everyone receiving their Leaving Certificate results. If you are disappointed please remember the results do not define who you are. There are plenty of options & roads to take in order to fulfill your dreams & ambitions. Be resilient, that’s what will make you a strong & better person.
Open to Everyone You do not have to be a current student of Rossmore S&D. All you have to do is write a short review of any chapter of ‘Divine Spark-Age of Aeon’ by Patrick McGorman & email it to rossmorewriteabookreview@gmail.com Please add the name of the child you want to nominate for the free term. Please like & share this post. The book can be bought in Canal Stores in Clones & Easons in Monaghan. it can also be ordered on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Alternatively you can ask your local librarian to order you a copy. The book is best suited to over 12 year olds & is sci-fi genre. So far we have had a poor response so why not give it a go!
