The Lifelong Learning Dept of GMIT Mayo Campus offers a wide range of part-time programmes commencing every September and January. Lifelong learning means learning throughout life and in a range of situations. At GMIT Mayo in Castlebar we offer a range of part-time nationally accredited courses. These courses are delivered on a part-time basis and suit people who may have to juggle several responsibilities such as a job and family commitments, but would still like to further their learning.
At GMIT Mayo Campus, we offer short courses, year-long courses and degree courses on a part-time or flexible basis. The short courses on offer, (nationally accredited 5 and 10 credit modules at Levels 6-8 NFQ), include new additions such as Digital Media, Genealogy and Digital Marketing. Degree courses are offered in art, business, social care, construction and nursing. Some courses are available online and are typically supported by GMIT's virtual learning environment Moodle.
Open evenings take place in early September and January each year.

GMIT Mayo are offering a 15-week (3 hours per week, Tuesday evenings) course in IELTS (International English Language Testing System). IELTS prepares students, who are non-native English speakers, to sit the IELTS academic exam. The course gradually builds up the students skills, language and techniques needed and focuses primarily on Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The cost of the course is €350 plus course book. ‘Wanderland”, an exhibition in GMIT Mayo Campus showcasing new works by three artists, will open on Wednesday 15th November at 3pm. The artists, Alan Gavin, Marliese Hertfelder & Katie J Delaney, all took part in a six-week residency in the summer of 2017. The exhibition will open at 3pm in the Nursing Foyer area. All are welcome.
