📅 This Time Next Year ✔ 1/52 weeks has already whizzed by.... Whatever goals and intentions you have set yourself for 2018 ✒ Write them down and get very clear about them 🔍 "It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It's what we do CONSISTENTLY" - Tony Robbins "By the mile, it's a pile...by the yard, it's hard...but by the inch, it's cinch" - Dr. John Demartini Whatever it is, if it is of high priority to you, you will put small consistent steps in place to achieve it. °•○ Ankle INJURY Rehab ○•° See what a difference these foot and ankle changes made to her walking pattern ⤵...video in previous post 🎬 #biomechanics #gait #injury #rehab
Gait Analysis during Ankle Rehab (after Ankle Stabilisation Surgery) Before - you will observe a lateral shift in her right knee as a compensation for lack of rearfoot supination, which would gap the lateral ankle at the surgery site putting replacement ligament structures on stretch ....................................................... After - knee mechanics are greatly improved after introducing supination in the rearfoot and allowing her body to experience opposition between right forefoot and rearfoot. This #AiM exercise only takes a couple of minutes and a pair of foam wedges. Specific Rehab allows for more efficient recovery. ...................................................... *** ACL (Cruciate) Rehab *** A quick video to show Quad muscle reaction to some simple specific movement drills after knee surgery. In this case a full ACL (cruciate) reconstruction had previously been performed + a more recent manipulation and arthroscopy. This was a weight bearing drill to bring awareness to the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the foot, while loading the knee in full flexion and was completed with 3-5 reps. 3D Specific Joint Function is so important in ACL Rehab, encouraging both foot pronation and supination to access the locking and unlocking mechanism in the knee coupled with global body movement to integrate flexion, extension, rotations, and frontal plane movement through the entire chain. Credit to this player who returned to the field 10 days later and went on to pick up her first All-Star award after a tough defeat in the 2017 All-Ireland Final. #AiM #ACL #rehab #lgfa www.karenlaceyclinic.com
Do you suffer with recurring HAMSTRING strains? Are you sidelined much of the time due to hamstring hopping? This player had repeat episodes of right hamstring issues; that common sensation of tightening/pulling but not tearing The 🔐 to hamstring rehab is identifying global movement patterns and providing specific corrections before you start S&C In this case, a previous right wrist fracture and neck restriction held so much information that helped in achieving better low back and pelvis alignment to restore balance to the hamstrings Assess...don't guess!
