There was an overwhelming sense of excitement surrounding Leah and Marco’s wedding day, not just to celebrate a marriage 10 years in the making but, to everyone in the know, it was the last evolution of a wedding that had changed, shifted, and transformed many times in the months leading up to it. What was in its early stages a California vineyard wedding became an elegant and ethereal affair at the The Omni King Edward Hotel’s recently reopened Crystal Ballroom, brought to life by Blush & Bowties and White Oak Flower Co., whose poppy arrangements had us like whoa. There’s a lot of things we love about this film — Leah’s processional accented by the rainbow of colours through the church’s windows, their post-ceremony drive in Marco’s vintage Mustang, their friends and family letting loose on the dance floor and thy way all of it works together to build the excitement Leah and Marco knew would characterize their day all along.

And as we wrap one hectic week with crazy shooting schedules, we prepare for the next. A little bit of a frankenrig with @zacuto rails and a @redrockmicro follow-focus for tomorrow’s setup.

With truly personal vows exchanged moments before the ceremony under the pine trees that line Cambium Farms’ back field, a magical Jewish/Macedonian ceremony accented by the perfectly diffused sunlight that made its way through the holes and gaps in between the wooden panels of the barn, traditional dances, an intimate first look, and all the moment in between each of these milestones, Brittany and Mitch’s wedding film tugs at our heart strings and gives us all the feels. 😭

Geared up for today's wedding 💪🏻

From very early on, Katrina and Brett told us that wedding videography was one of the most important elements of their day and the keepsake they were looking forward to the most. That didn’t necessarily change our approach, but it did spark much excitement going into their celebration at the scenic Kurtz Orchards in Niagara on the Lake. They were excited for us to lend our style and approach to their wedding day and we were excited to tell their story and wander through the vineyards at sunset with them. Watch for the small ceremony under the trees behind the Gracewood Estate and the family-style dinner amongst the vines, stay for the custom-made neon sign ⚡️

On a day where looming clouds foreshadowed heavy storms, Angela + Barry continued with their plans for an outdoor ceremony on the edge of the Graydon Hall Manor garden. The clouds then parted to let in a perfectly diffused ray of direct sunlight right before they exchanged their vows. And despite the torrential downpour throughout dinner, it all cleared in time for their outdoor first dance. The resulting fog, accented by our lights, just another gift from the crazy weather that tied every theme of Angela and Barry’s film together ✨

With a beautifully-crafted celebration tailored to their closest friends and family and spread across a couple of days amongst the sun-kissed vineyards of Niagara on the Lake, Melanie and Carey’s wedding is one of the most epic films we have ever put together. There's so many different elements that make this film so special: the bohemian, picnic-style rehearsal dinner at the Woodburn Inn, their perfectly informal speeches, the intimate ceremony tucked away on the edge of the Ridgepoint Winery vineyards, the rustic open-air dinner that followed, and all the little moments Melanie and Carey share throughout. Enjoy ✨

The calm before the storm // starting this Monday, we'll be taking on 4 weddings over the course of 6 days. It's a crazy feat that came together by chance. Although, we usually take on one wedding per weekend, a couple of last-minute date changes for unforeseen circumstances has made the first week of August our greatest undertaking to date. See you on the other side ✌🏻

Allie and Cody first met at their summer camp, Muskoka Woods, when they were just kids. The camp itself is just a short boat ride away from their cottage, so from our very first meeting, we always talked about revisiting it with them and doing some of their favourite activities on the water. As amazing as this all sounded, finding a time to head up to Muskoka proved almost impossible between Cody’s NHL training and the crazy weather leading up to each shoot. So just one week before the wedding day, we found ourselves boating across, through and away from thunderstorms in the most amazing of lights. When Allie and Cody told us that every important wedding milestone, from their engagement to photo shoots, parties and rehearsals had been rained down on, we knew we had the perfect narrative for their story. And when a rainbow formed LITERALLY IN FRONT OF ALL OF US on the lake, we knew we had the perfect conclusion to their film. Everything about this film is so magical. Enjoy ✨🌈

Last night, we lost the groom to the party after walking through the vines at Kurtz - and to be fair, the dance floor did need him (have you seen our stories?!). And so we stuck around taking instagram photos, both silly and serious, with the beautiful, both on the inside and outside, Katrina until the sun went down. At which point we joined the sweatiest of grooms on the dance floor.

Carly and Mike had each sent us their vows and filled us in on their speech so we had a very good idea of just how intimate this film would be from very early on. From Carly’s poem reflecting on the start of their relationship to their emotional vows, we knew we had a narrative that their laughter would bring to life. We wanted our visuals to be just as impactful as their story, so we made the decision to shoot each key moment of the day in slow motion. Typically, this adds a lot of drama to a scene, but in the context of Carly and Mike’s celebration, it highlighted each light-hearted moment, bringing each singular laugh and smile to the foreground.
