facebook.comIt is getting better, but still not spring yet!
For those of you who think about spring cleaning...it has to wait! Even this beautiful warm day today can't melt all the snow at once. And yes, that is ice on the lake...
Once again a good amount of snow on the campground and ice cover on the lake.
Welcome to the 2018 Camping Season! Sunny day on Shuswap Lake, but spring still seems to be a bit away. If you would like to spend some time at the campground this year you can book now! Please email: pierrespointcampground@gmail.com or call 250-832-9523
Winterizing is in progress. We would like to thank our great campers as well as our amazing staff for a fantastic season. Hopefully we will see you all next year again! Lars & Barbara
More beautiful days in the Shuswap...
It is still a bit smokey, but otherwise a beautiful day. Just to be clear, the campground is not flooded anymore and there is also no fires nearby. The forest fire in Ashcroft is approximately 200 km away. Smoke from the fires moves in and out of the area depending on the direction of the wind and other weather conditions.
It looks like the lake peaked a few days ago. It will take some time for the water to recede...
B.C. interior is dealing with flooding this spring, and Pierres Point Campground has been affected as well. As of June 11, 2017, all of our beachfront sites as well as some other sites, are not useable. Even if the waters decide to recede, and the soil dries out, we are expecting a massive amount of clean up and erosion to those sites. We are advising our guests well in advance of changes in reserved sites, or possible cancellations, esp. for bookings in late June or early July. We are very sorry for the inconvenience the flooding is causing everyone!! Lars and Barb
Awful weather today, but we had a few nice days, so spring clean-up has finally started.
