Photos taken this morning at the Centre. Over fifty people, young and old gathered to watch the dedication of the Baha'i Temple in Santiago, Chile on the 'big screen'. A moving experience, as you can see from the photos. We also clapped for the speeches, and sang together at the end.

This Saturday evening there will be a book launch for: Tending the Garden: A Biography of Emeric and Rosemary Sala by Ilona Weinstein When: Saturday evening, October 8th, 7:30pm Where: Ottawa Baha’i Centre, 211 McArthur Avenue, These early Canadian Baha’is came from vastly different backgrounds, but after they found the Baha’i Faith, and married in the early 1930s in Montreal, they served the Faith on three continents over forty-five years. This included travel teaching trips to Ottawa where they gave public talks at the Chateau Laurier. Emeric Sala’s book about the Baha’i Faith, “The Earth is But One Country” was a well loved introduction to the Faith for many years. A play about the Salas will be performed at the opening of the house of worship in Chile this Fall.

Presenter: Jay Howden Topic: Hope in Troubling and Turbulent Times When: Friday, September 2, 7.30pm Where: Ottawa Baha'i Centre, 211 McArthur Avenue " One of the most useful, consoling and power-packed insights in the Baha'i Teachings - there are approximately 7.3 billion of them! - is its comparison of the development of humanity to the life cycle of an individual. It's a view of history that makes sense of where we've been and where we're headed, and helps a person to 'keep your head when all about you/Are losing theirs and blaming it on you...' Adolescence can be a difficult time, but it's also full of excitement, possibility and promise, and Jay will try to share some of these".
