OBBHA - Ottawa Blues Ball Hockey Association
For more information, please visit http://www.obbha.ca/youth-leagues/league-information Our research has shown that the exercise value is superior in the OBBHA using our unique rules (ball always live, no face-offs and no penalties implementing the yellow/red card soccer style system).

A standard ball hockey game taking place in a one hour period with warm-up, face-offs and penalties resulted in 27 minutes on average of physical exercise. Divide that by how may lines a team has (2 or sometimes 3)….and it is 9 or 13.5 minutes of exercise per player per hour.

The OBBHA numbers offer a full hour of exercise divided by 2 (as most teams have decided to go with 8 players plus a goalie) for 30 minutes of running per player in the hour. The goalies face many more shots than any other league as well for the game is non-stop!l….and this is the main reason we have two breaks of 1 or 2 minutes after every 18 minutes of play. The OBBHA guarantees you will be tired, get in shape and get more exercise per game than any other current format utilized in any other ball hockey league!

Help us spread the word about the OBBHA’s unique rules that promote Fun, Fitness, Fair-play and Friendship. Clearly, it's the most exercise any ball hockey league offers as result of the “ball always live” rule.

FUN FITNESS-4-ALL with Stacey Laviolette and Kyle Johnson!

For all sessions, as added value, the OBBHA has decided to provide a fun and upbeat fitness sessions that is different for each weekend. The sessions will be held again ten minutes after each hour and be in effect for 1/2 hour per group
(ex ages 7-9, hockey from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m., then fitness from 11:10 to 11:40).

The general structure for each lesson is the same; except each week we will have different exercises. For example, we will start off with free time for 10 minutes, then a warm-up, then a challenging workout for 4-7 minutes depending on the group and/or an obstacle course/race, cool-down then stretches. After we can play a game (ANYTHING!!!) :)

So come out every week and show the coaches how much of an athlete you really are!

Please note that all parents, siblings and/or other family members are more than welcome to join in and gain some fitness training as well; all for FREE included in your child's 130.00$ ball hockey fee.
