The Yakima Convention Center executive chef will head to Washington, D.C., next week to join the large culinary team for the official U.S. Presidential Inaugural Balls. Michael Zuniga and the rest of the culinary team from Centerplate, the catering company at the Yakima Convention Center, will be tasked to prepare a menu that will be served to more than 30,000 guests. A number of balls are held on Inauguration Day, which is on January 20, but the official balls are generally invitation only and will feature appearances by President - elect Donald W Trump, Vice President - elect Mike Pence and their families. The winners of our "unique" or ugly sweater contest, from our staff Christmas party yesterday. Left to right; Diane from the Visitor Information Center added some reindeer footprints and fresh garland to hers. Aracely from our Operations department had a grinch shirt made (it looks an awful lot like Sam, our Director of Op's) and Hector also from Op's has tinsel all over his sweatshirt! Kudos to these three for their creativity!
