The Winter Garden is truly an attractive, 4-season garden, especially under the supervision of volunteer, Glenn Blake! Panicled Hydrangeas don't sweat the Japanese Beetles or warm temperatures in summer and the bloom heads persist through winter.
Junior Master Gardeners were surprised with a visitor today at the Botanical Center courtesy of Kelly McGowan with the University of Missouri Extension. This is the larvae of a regal moth known as a "hickory horned devil." You can find some of its close relatives in the Dr. Bill Roston Native Butterfly House.
