Summer of 1994 was a big one! May 18,1994 marks the day that Ozark Greenways & Burlington Northern Railroad Company entered into the trail use/railbanking agreement with the Interstate Commerce Commission, now Surface Transportation Board! 25 years ago TODAY is when the Frisco Rail Line was deeded over to Ozark Greenways, Inc. Ron Coleman was our Executive Director and sole employee of our organization, and Cliff Jacobs was our Board President. Join us on October 19th from 9-11 am at the Willard Trailhead for some celebratory coffee, cookies, and conversation! More details closer to the event.

Route 160 Widening Willard to Springfield

For those of you interested in staying in the loop regarding MoDOT Southwest Missouri's Route 160 Widening Project between Willard to Springfield, you may sign up via the below link. We will have to temporarily close the trail around mile marker 3 at some point later this summer/fall. As soon as we know that timeline, we will post it here and on our website. We are very pleased that MoDOT will be installing a lighted underpass for people who bike/walk at Hunt Road (McDonalds) to make it safer and more comfortable to cross 160 to access the trail!
