We're going to miss you, Dean B! Thank you for 13 years of service. Safe travels in June! "I graduated from Union College in 2000 and became an academy dean. While I was away, I missed the loving environment and how close-knit everyone is at Union. In July of 2005, I came back as head dean! Now after 13 years, I’m moving to southern California to be the associate dean of women at Loma Linda University. I’ll be closer to family, but I’m saddened to be leaving you all. I know that God has called me to this new job and I will forever remember you in my heart and prayers. I know I’m leaving you in good hands." —Donene Braithwaite (Dean B.) #ucollegeNE

"Coming from a single-income home, I never thought an Adventist education would be possible. That's why the scholarship I received from Union means so much to me. Not only am I getting a top-notch education, but I'm getting it in the most positive college environment I can imagine. Union offers something that other schools don't—a campus-wide family. I've been so blessed to receive an education at Union, and it's all thanks to the generous donors who support our school!" ~Olivia McAuliffe, junior psychology major from Kansas Thank you for making a difference in students' lives by funding Union scholarships! The Medical Cadet Corps was created in 1934 by Union professor and World War I veteran, Everett Dick, and is making a comeback. Because there are less drafts and more natural disasters, the focus has moved from preparing conscientious objectors with medical training, to equipping cadets with the skills to serve local communities in times of emergency.

Union College's vice president for spiritual life, Pastor Rich Carlson, had the honor of praying on the front steps of the police department yesterday, recognizing the fallen officers from the city of Lincoln and Lancaster County. Pastor Rich became a police and fire chaplain in 1983 and is now the longest-serving one in Lincoln. "It's been 50 years since a Lincoln police officer has been killed in the line of duty, and 31 years since a county sheriff lost his life in the line of duty," Pastor Rich said. "We are a blessed city." #ucollegeNE #LNK
