It's Waste Wednesday! The symbol commonly associated with recycling, called Mobius (♻), on a container does not necessarily mean the item is recyclable in your curbside mixed recycling cart. A good rule of thumb is to recycle plastics by shape: bottles, jars, jugs, and tubs. Do NOT include #6 plastics, like disposable plates and cups, meat trays, egg cartons, carry-out containers, or aspirin bottles. #ElginIL #WasteWednesday #Refuse #Recycling #RecycleOftenRecycleRight #RORR Waste Management

Did you know that refuse and recycling carts may only be placed at the curb after 5:00 p.m. on the day before collection, and they must be removed before midnight the day of collection? At all other times, carts are prohibited from any public view. Carts are to be at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection. If you are in a construction area, even earlier is recommended, as trucks attempt to make collection in those areas before the day's work begins.
