Features will include forward/reverse gear, new engine, hydraulic brakes, and improved handling and ride from a redesigned suspension system. The two-seat racer was originally built from the ground up by the 2013 engineering class as its capstone project. Loras College students Melanie Gerbig, Theresa Milazzo, Broderick Bede Hooker and Blake Derby recently interned at Resources Unite. During winter break, Melanie asked her hometown of Stacyville, Iowa to donate supplies to the local charity organization. The community's generosity resulted in a car overflowing with more than 500 items. The team plans to return next semester with another Duhawk, Whitnee Hale. It's a joy to witness the difference our students make in the lives of others. #dupride #LorasCollege

Loras senior Maria Teets' video essay "Mazzuchelli and the Midwest" will be on its way to Rome as part of seeking canonization of The Rev. Samuel Mazzuchelli, an Italian Dominican missionary to the Dubuque and Galena areas in the 1840s. He worked closely with Bishop Mathias Loras, founder of Loras College, designed many still-standing area churches, and originated the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa Mound. Maria produced the video during J-Term last year and showed it during the Sinsinawa Mound Founders Day celebration. #dupride #LorasCollege
