Schools about to start and they’ve been training all summer! Everyone usually waits till something happens at school and then they bring their kids to me...these kids are good to go!
Just a few things we’ve been working on this past week. 1. Full mount Escape (Pushing on the hips, not the chest keeping arms out of danger while shrimping away until my hip hits the ankle) ending in the Single Leg X guard 2. Once opponent gains his ground you can stay on the SLX or in this case transition to the X-Guard. Controlling the crook of the nearside knee and off balancing him by stretching my legs slightly he’s forced to post. 3. Once he actively posts to not fall, I sweep away the nearside arm and elevate the far side leg towards the shoulder of the arm I have taken out. From there is a simple back roll over the right shoulder. Holding onto his leg with the insteps to gain the necessary momentum to spring my legs out into side control as he falls over. Im also landing on my toes to start the pressure game from top side control. I learned this at a Robson Moura Seminar as a blue belt and still use this all the time!
