Description
Presenting our traditional Tibetan foods in an American style without losing the authentic Tibetan food taste. Cafe Tibet's chef and owner is Samten. She was born in Tibet, but she grew up in India.
She ran a popular Tibetan restaurant, Shangri-La, in Dharamsala for 10 years before coming to U.S. in 1992.
Naturally, Samten began working in a restaurant business even after coming to the U.S.. She spent her first seven years in the U.S. working at the Stars restaurant in San Francisco before opening her own business in 1999.
Samten is a mother, a business owner, and a community server. Her presence at the restaurant adds a homey feel to the space, especially to our customers.
