Thursday thoughts from the Battle Creek Area Clean Water Partners January calendar page -- Shovel snow and ice early and often to limit your use of sand, salt, and de-icing chemicals, which can run off into our water. Water FYI for the northeast part of the city -- Due to an emergency water leak, water has been shut off on Yale Street, between Lawler and East Roosevelt, and on Clifton Place between East Avenue and Yale. The crew expects it will be back on shortly, with *no* boil advisory at this time. We'll update everyone if an advisory goes into effect.

Waste Tip Wednesday -- It's important to clear a spot in the snow for your trash and recycling containers -- the best location is on the edge of the curb, or the edge of your yard, if you don't have a curb. Please do not place them on snow banks -- this is a hazard and Waste Management drivers will not place them back up there, for fear they will fall off. Please do not place them in the street, as plows may hit them, or plow them into the snow. Thanks for your help this winter! ❄❄❄
