The Nehemiah Brainerd House B&B was built in 1765 and is located on five park- like acres in the Haddam historic district on a hill overlooking the state park and the Connecticut River. Built in 1765 by Nehemiah Brainerd and then expanded in 1932 by best selling author, Katharine Brush, the inn offers modern comfort in an historic setting with four lovely antique-filled rooms. A complimentary full homemade breakfast is included each morning.
Also on the property is the Yankee Magazine 2011 "Best of New England" award winning Laurel Cottage guest house. The Laurel Cottage is a private retreat decorated in the arts and crafts style of William Morris and the late 19th century. It has a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, private stone patio with gas grill and sweeping views to the hills across the river for al fresco dining. The Laurel Cottage has central air and heat for all season comfort.
