Sunday Meat Carvery 12 noon - 7.30pm £9.95 The Blue Anchor Pub is situated in a small village called Bretherton in Lancashire. We serve an all you can eat hot pub grub buffet with salad bar Monday to Saturday from 12noon until 8.30pm for £4.99.
Options available vary daily, but where stock allows we generally have battered cod, chips and mushy peas, steak and potato hotpot, beef lasagne, curry, rice and poppadoms, lambs liver, pork sausages, casserole, a variety of vegetables, pan fired vegetables a sweet chilli sauce (or variety) a vegetable bake plus a salad bar. Most items are gluten free and all allergens are displayed on the large screen above the counter. Other options are available which vary on a daily basis.
Sunday carvery from (12 noon until 8pm) is also very popular with several options available:-

The carvery offers 5 choices of meat, pork, chicken, gammon, turkey and beef and the accompaniments are boiled and roast potatoes, spring cabbage with cajun spice, pan fried vegetables in a sweet chilli sauce, mashed carrots, sprouts in a cream of black pepper sauce, plus Yorkshire puddings all topped with our homemade stock gravy.

And the final day.... all done !! Refurb 2017/18 finished. Huge thanks to John Hart, the lads at JSJUK and Ste Smith and the team, plus our very own Joe Lyth, Tom Frankland, Josh Semple, Jeanette Hinchliffe, John Hinchliffe, Charlotte Burns and Sheila Dacre. The new Jacket potato oven is snuggly in place and a host of new items will be appearing on both the salad bar and hot counter over the next week as our deliveries arrive. We open tomorrow at 12 noon and are quite excited :) Thanks to everyone who has chipped in with ideas, suggestions and help and we hope you enjoy what we have done :)

Day 8 of 10 - Loving the wooden floor when it’s all varnished. All the woodwork repainted and walls first coat complete. Outside planting has started and now a little wiring to do.... happy days :)
Day 7 of 10 - Another day of messy work, we’ve had to rewire all the outside lights on the front border to take the extra load which was not on the ‘to do’ list! All cobbling is now complete and ready for planting so tomorrow it’s back inside for the painting and kitchen floor tiling :) Only three more days before cooking commences ..... eek!!
