The club's Crisis meeting was well attended and playing numbers have improved enough to field a team last week but we have a long way to go. In short there are several committee positions that MUST be filled at the AGM on the 14th May if the club is going to continue. Two weeks ago, the club gathered around at a meeting and discussed ultimately whether we could get the numbers back up again and start playing competitive rugby in Surrey, whilst building the youth numbers or whether we were just flogging a dead horse. On Saturday, a Mitcham side took on Raynes Park in the league and couldn't have played with more heart. Not only is the pride there, but the passion to play is still alive and kicking in Mitcham. Win or lose, Mitcham will build on this and take this on to the next season. That being said, whilst the playing spirit is there, we still urgently need volunteers in the committee and players who are looking to join a club looking to rebuild a great legacy. Those that are keen to get involved, please do get in touch! Next week is the President's Game and everyone who attends will find a Mitcham side that will be playing not only for the badge and a club that has stood for eighty years, but playing for each other and the team mates either side of them.
