The first day of our Antiques Auction is still ongoing. The star of the day was this group of three pieces of antique Chinese jade. We knew they would do well but after some competitive bidding the hammer finally fell at £18,500! An amazing result for the vendor.

At 7.00pm David Lay will start the auction, and you will have the opportunity to bid on the works created that very day, which may, in some cases, still be wet. "

We are currently working hard on next weeks Antiques auction. Two of the most exciting lots are 208 & 208a, the photograph album, documents the British Lions tour of Argentina in 1910. The images were taken by local boy and rugby international Barrie Bennetts who died in 1958. 208a is a blazer pocket that we believe comes from that tour.

As well as tomorrow's General Sale, we have an Antiques Sale on the 21st & 22nd of this month. It's a huge sale with lots of items of local interest but the real high flyers are Chinese antiques and high end watches, like this extraordinary Franck Muller perpetual moon phase, which carries an estimate of £8,000-£12,000.
