Welcome the first music Monday. Here at Kiln one of our team Ebony has come up with the idea of inviting everyone down for bands on a Monday evening. Ebony who extensively musical herself has put together a great selection of musicians for you to enjoy. We hope to see you down tomorrow evening, enjoy the sunshine! Check out the bands below: First up- heather story Fresh from playing the main stage at the o2 academy Heather Story's gritty observational lyrics are based on growing up in the north east paired with catchy melodies creating a naturally individual style. Second- Stravaig Trio , A Scottish trio based in Newcastle drawing on inspiration from Scottish traditional music with influences from jazz and pop. Lineup includes mandolin, clarsach, fiddle and vocal ensemble. Finally The Escapades are a new indie pop/band formed in Newcastle, orientated group of musicians focused on making music that is universally accessible, as well as making you move.

Hello👋 SUNDAY MONSTER MAKING! 10-6... don’t forget! Today with monster making was crazy! We planned and planned and we made twice as many monsters as last year! To all those patient people we thank you! To anyone we had to turn away we hope you give us a go next time, we couldn’t have anticipated. We made 500 coffees, 300 hot chocolates, 200 monsters, and 200 cups of tea! I think that’s a record! Thanks again!!!!

Hello you lovely people. We will once again be bringing you the Kiln Monster Making Sessions over this years Spring Ousburn Open Studios. We have hopefully refined the process a little more so its easier and will have lots of friendly people on hand to help out. Last time we glazed everything in oatmeal white, this time and to add to the collection we will be glazing everything in oatmeal blue. Unlike last time where we still have loads and loads of monsters still at kiln there will be a cut off for collection which will be announced. The remaining monsters will go into a charity auction to help raise money for Ouseburn Farm. Entry is £4 and we will be hosting a great selection of things in the cafe to keep you refreshed while you come and make you monsters. This is a really lovely event for children as it gets them hands on with clay, and is a super creative day for all.
