We welcome everyone to join our services and into our larger community.
Priest in Charge Revd. Angela Plummer We welcome all people to our services and into our community groups.
Sunday Eucharist 9.30am
We have a Sunday School and creche during our service. The children then join us to tell us what they have been up to and to receive a blessing with the adults during communion.
After our service we have refreshments in the hall, all are welcome.
Wednesday Holy Communion 9.30am
This service is a said service without music. Adults and children are welcome, the service is followed by refreshments afterwards.
Messy Church Monday 9.30am - 12pm
Babies & children up to 3 years old, please bring parents, grandparents and carers for a morning of fun & fellowship.
Brownies Friday 6.30-8pm
Our Brownie unit meets each Friday during term time, all girls aged 7-11 years are welcome. You will have fun, make new friends and learn lots of new skills.

Rainbows Friday 5pm - 6pm
Our Rainbow unit will meet each Friday during term time, all girls aged 4.5 - 7 years are welcome.

facebook.comLaunch of new exercise group - 'Greyscheme' Wednesday 4th October 12.30-1.30pm Upper Hall at the Ascension. There will be a launch event for Greyscheme, a new “youth club for the 50+” here at the Ascension on Wednesday 4th October. The initiative is being launched by Kenton Park Sports Centre and anyone interested in keeping your body moving and your mind active is invited to come along to the informal launch event, where ideas about the group will be shared and there will be a chance to meet with the exercise instructor. A complimentary buffet and refreshments will be provided.
Well this is going to be a conversation starter on the journey back to Newcastle! Pleasant journey back all.
We are immensely proud to receive our prize cheque and certificate for being a finalist in the Ecclesiastical Insurance Art Competition 2017. Thank you to all the congregation who contributed to our entry and in particular to John came up with the concept and brought it together into one piece. Here are some photos: our delegation collecting our prize and one of Angela and John in front of our entry on the huge mural banner that will tour cathedrals across the country over the coming months. If you would like to see this, the closest place will be Edinburgh Cathedral. Thank you all for your kind messages and support.

Thank you so much for those who came to our Harvest Festival today and for your generous contributions to the Newcastle Food Bank. We really do have a great community in and around the Ascension and Kenton.
It is our Harvest Festival today at 10.30am. This is a family service. Please bring your food gifts along - these will be donated to the Newcastle Food Bank. After the service there will be a shared lunch. All are welcome!
Church is starting to look great for tomorrow's Harvest Service at 10.30. Plus Messy Church has also created some art to make it look amazing. We hope you will join us for this family focussed service. There will be lunch served afterwards for us all to share. If you can please also bring a tin of food or something that is dry, that will be donated to the food bank then that would be great.
