Yesterday we held our open forum in the parish and major decisions were made with regards to 1. The name for our future Parish: The Bishop will be given 3 names to choose from: - Parish of the Nativity - Parish of the Holy family & Immaculate Conception - St. John Paul II Parish 2. Sunday Mass times From Easter Sunday, our mass times will be amended to the following: St. Mary's 9.30am Holy family: 11.15am St. Mary's: 6pm The Vigil Mass on Saturday evening at Holy Family will no longer hold from the month of April. We as a community are not oblivious of the difficulties associated with any form of change. These difficulties are not only felt by the parishioners but also by the priest himself. I therefore plead with us all in the Spirit of communion and charity to accept these changes and hopefully adapt to them gradually. I want to thank all the wonderful parishioners at St. Mary's for their graciousness and understanding towards the community at Holy family. That is what Christianity is all about. Thank you. That's me done. I can now retire 😆

Lent is about permitting ourselves to have some discomfort, going out of our regular schedule to do something spiritual, something edifying...all for the right reasons. Stations of the Cross @ 7pm every Wednesday in alternating churches. Today we are at St. Mary's. Allow yourself this little discomfort...

Just got this email. It's interesting the research these scammers have to do to make their scheme look believable...or is it an inside job? Moral of the story: if it is too good to be true..then it is too good to be true...stay awake!! Dear Rev ....... St Mary, Clive Road, Failsworth, M44 0NN I hope and pray that these few lines of mine will find you hale and hearty. I am happy to reach you at last, it took me a lot of time and process before I could get to you as I have been trying to contact you in the past but I have been unsuccessful in locating you after several attempts. I am Attorney Paschal Alamezie, Esq. Principal Partner Justice Law Chambers. I am attorney to Late Engr. Antonio Galvez. I wish to inform you that you have been put in the WILL of the late Engr. Antonio Galvez. He made you a beneficiary to his will. He left the sum of Five Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars (US$550,000.00) to you in the codicil and last testament to his will. He died peacefully and with dignity at hospital and after a short but defiant battle with cancer. Late Engr. Antonio Galvez died on the 18th of October 2017 and his WILL is now ready for execution. According to him, these funds are to be used for propagation/support your priestly vocation and to help the poor and the needy. Having served in various roles in the Archdiocese, he must have met with you in person the past or simply you were recommended to him by one of his numerous friends abroad who loves you and needed to support your vocation. Late Engr. Antonio Galvez was a very dedicated Christian who loved to give out. He is well remembered for today his various philanthropic contributions, donations and his warmth, and his generous heart greatly earned him numerous awards during his life time. This is a formal notification and on request I would send you the obituary notice for your perusal maybe you will recognize him. Please, if I reach you as I am hopeful, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible for immediate processing and payment of your fund by the paying bank. I await to hear from you about how to process the funds from this estate. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Antonio Galvez. I look forward to hear from you for further correspondence. Sincerely yours, Attorney Paschal Alamezie, Esq. Justice Law Chambers 13 Old Church Road Owerri- Nigeria Tel: +234 8175405293 Fax: 234 813 694 2976
