Welcome to Sonali Tandoori. Established in 1992, it is known as one of the finest halal Indian/ Bangladeshi takeaways in the heart of Grove Park, London. Sonali Tandoori was established in March 1992 in Grove Park, SE12 London, and has become a household name within Grove Park and the surrounding areas. As well the many awards it has won over the years since opening, it has also been a permanent fixture in the Top 100 Best Indian Takeaways in the UK for the past 5 years. Sonali Tandoori has achieved the Food Standards Agency’s 5 Star Rating for 3 years in a row and has been a finalist at the Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards for the past 4 years. Its biggest accolade came to date in November 2014 when the head chef was awarded Best Chef of the Year in South East London; an award received from MasterChef’s Greg Wallace and Labour Party Leader, Honorable Ed Milliband MP.
Over the years Sonali Tandoori has given it's own twist to traditional Bengali and Indian dishes, following a philosophy of healthy cooking based on traditional methods and recipes. We use the right balance of farm fresh ingredients to create our signature dishes. Our food is born from a region that was a crossroads for Persian scholars, Afghan traders, Arab adventurers and the East India Company all contributing their unique spirit into the pot.
