Marcit Furniture
Description
All funds raised at the Marc-it Furniture Shop supports the work of The Link Family and Community Centre in Newtownards. The Link came into being in January 1997. It originated from a group of
concerned local Christians who formed a Management Committee to take the
project forward. The organisation now employs thirteen members of staff and has
in excess of 50 volunteers working in a number of areas. The Link seeks to work
with some of the most marginalized members of the local community. Our
provision includes:
• Youth Drop-in and programmes
• MARC (Making a Real Change) addiction support services
• Totstime Parent and Toddler Group
• Senior Citizens Lunch Club
• Social Economy Furniture MARC-it.
• ESOL classes
The MARCit shop has been in operation in since 2008. The shop runs as a
Social Economy Enterprise to contribute to the income of the Link Family and
Community Centre.
