Today we celebrate International Women's Day, which is always kept on March 8 every year. The day brings together global governments, women's organisations, businesses and charities together under the banner of International Women's Day. The days theme this year is 'Press For Progress'. With the recent scandals in Hollywood, and the World Economic Forums' Global Gender Gap Report showing that it will take 217 years to close the gender parity gap, it's more important than ever that we aim for progress. The IWD website argues: "We can't be complacent. Now, more than ever, there's a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. Still love this 2012 poster of the world's women rising up! Prayer for all, but today you women especially note: God smiles with love as he thinks of YOU! You are unique in God's kingdom. There is no one like you. No one has the talents, skills, and abilities that you have. No one has the experience that you have. No one can do the things that you can do. No one can achieve the destiny that God has for your life - except you. And no one can replace you in God's heart. No one could ever be so special to God that God wouldn't still yearn for your company. You are incredibly important to God. You are adorable and treasured in God's sight. God loves you just the way you are. God thinks you are awesome, yet God is eager to help you become even more - more joyful, more contented, more mature, and more blessed. You are uniquely qualified and prepared for each day, because God is living in you and you are living inside God's love. Let's spread this Good News around. Please share on your pages.

A prayer for God’s Guidance Heavenly Father, in you I live and move and have my being: I pray that you will guide and guard me by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of my life I may not forget you, but may remember that I am always walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Todays gospel reading included the scene where Jesus turns over the money changers tables in the temple and those selling animals and birds for sacrifice. But we can easily get stuck on the idea that He was angry because they were doing this thing in the courts of God's holy house. But this isn't really about what's taking place there, it's about what's actually missing! And what's missing is that they have forgotten all about God. And here's what some of the children got up to at the family service.
Prayer for Strength God loves when you pray for strength. And He promises to answer you: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am Your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Pray with confidence. Pray for the strength that God supplies and keep your eyes open for His answers. They may not look like your expectations. But you can be assured that He is working to strengthen your understanding, faith and hope in Him. Begin your day with this prayer for strength: Dear Lord, this morning, I pray that You give me strength today, to be strong for You in this world full of temptations. You know that there are struggles that I will go through today. I pray that You be with me as I go through them. Carry me when I am too weak. Amen.
