The bowling club was originally formed in 1921 as part of the English Sewing Company workers’ recreation club. The original bowling green was situated at Cowden Hall.
In 1959 the present bowling green, built by Mill workers, was opened and in the 1990’s the Club and the Green were purchased by the Members and a Members lounge was built. This was completed in the late 1990’s.
Our club is an equal membership club split into 3 sections (Gents, Ladies and Juniors) which currently has around 100 members.
