facebook.comThis September we are working in partnership with Alzheimer's Scotland as we act as host to their Ayrshire memory walk. The walk is a family friendly event which is aimed to bring thousands of people together, from all over the UK. Walking together to make sure no faces dementia alone. The Ayrshire walk this year takes place within the grounds of our wonderful estate on the 9th of September, starting at 12pm. Be a part of the event by getting yourself sponsored to complete the memory walk, which is set at 5 kilometres in distance. Your sponsorship will help Alzheimer's Scotland continue to offer a range of services including a 24hr freephone dementia helpline and local support and activities to communities around the country. There are lots of things planned for the day to make it an event out for the whole family. Baking sales, separate tea and coffee facilities for those taking part, play parks and possibly even bouncy castles. Click the link below for more details on how you can get involved with the day.
5 years ago today since we officially opened our doors, with many thanks going to a few special guests on the day. Its been an incredible journey so far. Here is hoping it continues to be just as interesting and fulfilling over the next 5 years. We have lots planned for this year to help celebrate our little anniversary. So keep your eyes peeled for everything happening. We are incredibly excited about it all.
School teacher Mr Lindsay was delighted to share this little clip of one of his pupils revelling in the challenges of our mucky mud trail. It should also be pointed out Mr Lindsay was too afraid to tackle this himself. Which meant we did get this amazing clip, so I guess we will let him off.
A fantastic week with another fantastic school. Its the 5th year we've been home to Muirhead from Troon and its always been a pleasure housing them. Great school and a wonderful group of Children. There are a lot more photos still to come. We look forward to seeing you again.
This beautiful soul turns the quiet three zero today! So here are some facts about the man, the myth, "Jim Jam" Ewan Baird. 1. Ewan never skips leg day. 2. His body instantly rejects all kinds of soup, much in the same way people with lactose intolerance deal with dairy. 3. If he ever visits your home, he will somehow manage to leave his glasses somewhere no one will ever look. 4. Believe it or not, this picture may confuse you, but Ewan is the buildings heartthrob. 5. His favourite film is Sister act 2, and he likes to reenact the dance routines during residential discos. Ask him to perform it next time you see him. 6. His life ambition is to become a hip hop dancer. 7. He has magpie like tendenacies with shiny objects, usually keys. 8. His favourite outfit involves trousers that look spray painted on. 9. Ewans cooking skills leave a lot to be desired and he often burns broccoli. Which is incredible, as he starts by boiling it. 10. He sings in a band, kind of, he mimes. You wouldn't be able to tell he's miming though, he has perfected the art. This is disguised while he plays the tambourine. What a man, and what an incredible colleague. Enjoy your day sir!
