Stanway Garden Centre
Description
Welcome to our page. We are a part of Wyevale Garden Centres, bringing joy and inspiration to everyone's garden. Originally a prolific rose nursery growing some 300,000 roses a year, Stanway Garden Centre began life as Cants Roses in 1928. Set up by Frank Cant, whose holding at one time extended to 320 acres, the nursery amalgamated with Benjamin Cant at Mile End, Colchester in 1967. The entire rose growing operation moved to Mile End and to this day Cants remains one of Britain's most prominent rose growers.
The Stanway site became a fully-fledged garden centre in 1975 and is located off the A12, 3 miles from central Colchester. Staffed by a team of friendly horticultural experts, it offers top quality hardy nursery stock, bedding and houseplants as well as a wide array of gardening products and giftware. Every staff member has a wealth of gardening expertise they love to share with experienced gardeners and beginners alike and currently their combined service comes to more than 160 years at the centre!
With the most extensive stock of plants in the area, gardening remains the primary focus, however there is also a fabulous new restaurant serving freshly prepared food and cakes - even more of a reason to visit this large and beautifully designed garden centre!
