The 30th anniversary of ‘The Great Storm’. On the night of 15th/16th October 1987, a violent extratropical cyclone with hurricane force winds, caused around £1 billion pounds worth of damage. The highest measured gust in the UK was 120mph at Shoreham-by-sea and it has gone down in history as one of the worst UK storms since 1703 💨 As you can see, we were lucky that night 🍀
