B4 driving test takes place u sign insurance tax decleration followed by an eye sight check THEN show me tell me questions r asked when making way to vehicle. 2 Questions out of 19. Find below Q.1. Open bonnet identify where u would check the engine oil level and tell me how it has sufficient oil. A.1 Identify dipstick, tell them clean with tissue replace and check off against high low level markers. Q.2 Open bonnet identify where u would check the engine coolant level and tell me how you would check that the engine has correct level. A.2 Identify high/low level markings on header tank and tell how to top up to correct level. Q.3 Open bonnet identify windscreen washer reservoir and tell how to check level A.3 Identify reservoir and simply top up with water. Q.4 Open bonnet identify brake fluid reservoir and tell how u would check that u have a safe level of hydraulic brake fluid. A.4 Identify reservoir check level against high/low markings. Q.5 Tell me how u would check tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe for road. A.5 No cuts or bulges 1.6 mm of tread depth across 3/4 or the breath of the tyre and around the entire outer circumference Q.6 Tell me where you would find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for car and how tyre pressure should be checked A.6 Manufacturers guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres r cold, refit valve caps as remember spare wheel. Q.7 Tell me how u would check the break lights r working A.7 On test ask examiner yo stand at rear of vehicle while u apply break pedal. Reflections else were can help. Q.8 Tell me how u would check the brakes r working b4 starting a journey. A.8 Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. Test brakes as u set of and should not pull to one side. Q.9 Show me how you would use the demister controls to clear all the windows effectively Front&Rear A.9 Operate the fans for front and heated windscreen switch for rear. Q.10 Show me how u would check the parking break for excessive wear. A.10 Simply apply handbrake and when on its not at the end of working travel and secures the car Q.11 Show me how u would check the horn is working A.11 Press and beep. Q.12 Show how u would check that headlights and taillights r working A.12 Operate light switch and walk around car Q.13 Show me how u would check that the indicators r working. A.13 Apply indicators for each direction walk around car twice Q.14 Show me how u would switch on the rear fog lights and explain when to use A.14 Turn on headlights operate fog light switch and orange light will illuminate on panel and use when visibility is reduced to 100 metres or less Q15. Tell me how u would make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of an accident A.15 Head restraint should be adjusted so that the rigid part of the restraint is level with the eyes ears and as close to the back of head as comfortable Q.16 Tell me how u would know if there is a problem with the anti lock breaking system. A.16 Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. A red warning light will alluminate on the control panel marked ABS. Q.17 Show me how u would clean the windscreen using the washers and wipers. A.17 Operate wiper arm on steering column,apply gentle pressure and hold for couple of seconds. Q.18 Show me how u would switch ur headlights from dipped headlights to main beam and what light comes on to inform u they r on. A.18 Operate lever arm attached to lights by nudging forward and blue light illuminates on control panel Q.19 Show me how u would check that the power assisted steering is working. A.19 Gentle pressure on steering wheel when the car is started should result in noticeable movement.
