Beezneez Theatre presents The Drawer Boy Ontario, Canada – 1972. Miles, a young theatre actor from Toronto, arrives in Huron County at the home of Angus and Morgan, two aging bachelor farmers. Miles stays with the two farmers in order to gather stories about rural life and make a play about it. All three of their lives are irrevocably altered when art attempts to imitate life and the line between truth and fiction is crossed. Michael Roper, Gerry Farrell and Roy Mitchell feature in this beautiful, funny, moving and unmissable play. Ramor Film Club presents Cinema Paradiso Tuesday 13th February @8pm Salvatore’s mentor, Alfredo (Philippe Noiret), has died. Salvatore hasn’t been home for 30 years. Before returning for the funeral, he reminisces about his life and the effect Alfredo has had on it. He also remembers the only woman he ever loved, Elena (Brigitte Fossey). Cinema Paradiso is a wonderful film, completely faultless. Direction: perfect. Acting: perfect. Script, cinematography, editing, musical score: perfect. All the awards that it won – Cannes Grand Jury Prize, foreign language Oscar, five Baftas, and countless others – were richly deserved. Any that it didn’t win must have been a fix. Ramor Theatre presents Magical Mozart by Candlelight Sunday 4th February @ 8pm From the producers of A Viennese Strauss Gala, this sumptuous fully costumed show immerses us in the wonderful music and the classical baroque world of one of the world’s greatest romantic composers, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With beautiful settings, costumes, lighting and of course candles, the European Baroque Ensemble and world class opera singers transport you back to the sumptuous past. A packed programme of classical music and song, which includes excerpts from the most memorable of Mozart’s operas, such as – The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro, Cosi Fan Tutte and many more. The Successful TD follows the trials, tribulations, misadventures and hilarious antics of TULL McADOO as he seeks re-election to the Dail in the “October Elections” Written by John B Keane in 1967. He displays his edge for humour and satire that are uncomfortably close to the politics of today … Peppered with Keane’s gallery of madcap characters this show will have you laughing at politics (in a goodway) from the start. Tull has roped in the help of his faithful Daughter Kate while his wife nurses her various ailments in bed or Lisdoonvarna, but his arch enemy Flannery the local school teacher plans to scupper the election for Tull. “Any man with a vote is a man to be respected.
