Its Tuesday which means only one thing our Tuesday Top Tip is back! This weeks Top Tip comes from our Technical Sales Representative Brian Conroy. When using hot air welding tools to weld Sintofoil TPO membranes, pay particular attention to the length of cable being used particularly if using older analogue style welders. If cables are too long you may have a drop in the voltage reaching the machine which may result in the fan running at a slower speed. The resultant loss of air volume may lead to poor quality welds, which would appear at first inspection to be secure but which may fail when tested. The solution may be the use of an appropriately sized generator to ensure a clean and consistent supply is available closer to the works area. Remember to make test welds each morning and afternoon and to pull test these to ensure a secure weld is being made.
