Description
Tullamore International Welcome Centre is a weekly group to make friends, chat, get information and welcome others to our community from 1-5pm on Thursday. Open to everyone, Tullamore International Welcome Centre was started in October 2015 as a space of welcome for everyone in our community, and especially those who have moved here and chosen to make Tullamore their home, whether that be from Dublin or Cork, or overseas. We offer refreshments, space for small children, activities for adults
(craft, pool, board games, books) and a homework club with volunteers to help children with their work. We will do our best to offer help where required or just a chat over a cuppa. The service is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The International Welcome Centre will be restarting this coming Thursday 6th October at 2pm till 5pm in Tullamore Presbyterian Church. Everyone is very welcome to come and join in! We'll have the usual chat, tea and English practice, with homework club for the kids. Whether you are a newcomer to the town or have been here forever, you'll get a warm welcome and a chance to meet new people.

Thursday 25th Feb. Please bring some traditional toys from you home land. These could be dolls, animals etc. we will be running a design workshop based on these. Also if you have some children's clothes or old t shirts and jumpers that you no longer want please bring them along. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Ann

Youth Night - The Surf Project
Suitable for all teens, this is a brilliant project and well worth coming along to for the evening. They run surf clubs during summer and small groups in the winter. All teens welcome for the evening!

This week we will be starting our International Toy Making workshop with Ann Larkin. An will be printing out patterns of traditional toys from around the world to work on over three weeks. If you have a sewing needle and good quality scissors please bring them along but otherwise help will be provided. English conversation classes and homework help continue as normal.
Despite the terrible weather this afternoon, we had a great time making felt and learning how to turn it into a hat with Ann Larkin. Some beautiful creations in progress! Also plenty of tea drunk, biscuits eaten and pool played. Bobby led our improvers English class and William supervised and helped the children with their homework. TIWC is open to everyone in the community, whether you are Tullamore born and bred or a newcomer to the town. A great place to make new friends and learn some new skills! Come along next week and learn to work a sewing machine with Ann.
