Sleepzone Headquarters are based in Sleepzone Galway City - over 200 beds in en suite rooms (dorms and private rooms).
The Galway property is the first of three, opening in 2001 and gathering many accolades in the years since - 7th Best Hostel in the World (2004) and Best Hostel in Ireland (2006) on www.hostelworld.com, and extremely favourable reviews in the international and national press, and guidebooks. With modern features such as free internet and Wifi (which will soon be fully skype-enabled), electronic luggage lockers, 24-hour access security key-cards, pool-table and more, it has welcomed and been home to many travellers, young and old, as they have explored our wonderful city, and this vibrant part of the country.
We are also the proud operators of The Connemara Hostel which overlooks 'The Killary' - Ireland's only fjord - commanding incredible views along the waters of the fjord itself to where it enters the Atlantic ocean, and of course the mountains of Connemara all around. The location is ideal for hill-walking/mountaineering, biking, guided tours to learn about the native flora and fauna and of course the adventure activities offered nearby. The Connemara Hostel has 110 beds in all en suite rooms, a residents' area with pool table and log-fire, a spacious meeting room for groups, a TV lounge, drying room and picnic area. Killary Adventure Centre is just next door.
Not far from the famed surfing beaches at Lahinch and Fanore is The Burren Hostel, a 124-bed hostel which was run as a 3 star hotel until Sleepzone Hostels purchased it in March 2007. The village of Lisdoonvarna has the advantage of being within easy reach of the Cliffs of Moher, the dolmens, Ailwee caves and castles of the region. Caving, potholing, horse-riding and hiking can all be enjoyed nearby. This hostel also has all en suite rooms, a spacious meeting room, self-catering kitchen and dining room as well as free Internet and Wi-fi
