The Irish Film & Television Academy is the all-Ireland organisation whose mission is the stimulation of original and creative production work, and the encouragement of excellence through recognition, education and leadership in film and television. The Irish Film & Television Academy is a not-for-profit all-Ireland organisation that promotes, encourages and rewards creative excellence in film and television. IFTA does this with a year-round calendar of activities and events and the two annual Ceremonies; IFTA Film & Drama Awards and IFTA Gala Television Awards.

Irish Screen America /Irish Film Board celebrate Irish Film
Bord Scannain na hEireann/The Irish Film Board and Irish Screen America, the premier exhibitor of Irish-produced media in the U.S., hosted a celebratory reception and networking event in New York, for the Irish filmmakers in official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival. The prestigious New York festival, which wraps this weekend, premiered six Irish projects, each with multiple sell-out screenings, throughout the twelve day event. Brendan Muldowney’s thirteenth century Irish epic, Pilgrimage; Emer Reynolds’ NASA Voyager space documentary, The Farthest; and Tim Golden and Ross McDonnell’s doc on Elián Gonzalez, ELIÁN, alongside three Irish short films; 11th Hour, directed by Jim Sheridan and starring Salma Hayek; Wave, directed by Benjamin Cleary and TJ O’Grady-Peyton and Second to None, directed by Vincent Gallagher.
