facebook.comDid you know that we are all lacking in a crucial vitamin? This vitamin can help with so much, like brain function, energy production, sleep quality, positive mentality, healthy ageing, healthy skin, healthy bone structure, all to name a few? In an age where everybody nearly is obsessed with how many grams of protein are in a snickers bar, just so they can justify eating it - I can't help but feel like we are missing the point a little bit Would I be wrong in saying we all want to be healthy? That we all want to live long, happy, pain free lives? Or are we just obsessed with our fucking macro splits? Christ, I think its great that people are more aware of how much they are eating, and what they are eating but we as humans of course have changed what thats all about, We are now so obsessed with protein, fat and carb content of foods that don't matter, when really we are lacking nutrient dense foods that will actually benefit our bodies. Having said all that I believe that we are also lacking something else that plays a major role in overall health and happiness.. The vitamin we are lacking in our lives is Vitamin M Movement. Our bodies are designed to move, when we do so we start to think better, more clear, our brains work better and absorb more information, we use our muscles to move - improving energy production, moving increases blood flow, bringing nutrients from our food to where its needed. We start to make better choices, life choices, food choices, moral choices We as people in this day and age have so much information at the touch of a screen, so many "fitness" apps - but yet the very devices we use to access such information is part of the problem We need to Play, We need to get outside - get that fresh air, We need to be happy, We need to eat real food, We need to MOVE.
How do you measure your workout quality? Most people measure the quality of their workout based on how sore they are, and for how long - this is wrong! The soreness from a workout can be from many different things and depending on how new to exercise you are you may be sorer for longer, or more sore than somebody not so new You should be basing the quality of your session around progression - can I lift a little heavier, run a little further, do I feel a bit better lifting said weight etc You should be looking at being sore for a long time as a warning sign, maybe your not eating enough, Maybe your not sleeping enough You may even be going TOO hard at it for the level that your at! Exercise is for everybody, but the type of exercise, intensity, frequency and duration is where it becomes very individualised 😎 If you would like to know more, or you would like some help in achieving your goals, fill out an application form below 😀 https://goo.gl/forms/prcDsEC2BkTn6k2n1

I was told today marks the official "most depressing day of the year" In my eyes the word depressing or depression is being thrown around too easy, its been used to describe things or situations that are not optimal for that person, for example " i have to work later, god thats so depressing" That being said, I do believe that everybody has stressors in their lives, they do have off days and they do feel a bit down every now and then I know for me, exercise is the one thing that has consistently helped whenever I get into that humour There are lots of studies done to show the link between exercise and endorphin release, mood improvement and clearer thinking Even with all of these studies out there, that clearly show that exercise and good nutrition help with the above, I find that when you hear stories from people, and how its helped them, that the real results on real people in real life situations are more amazing than anything else I want to be able to help anybody out there today who is feeling a bit stressed, feeling a bit down, or a bit like "i just don't know what I'm doing" Im giving this free workout to do, it can be done anywhere, in your gym, home or in the park. Its programmed to be high intensity to get your heart rate elevated and give that endorphin rush 😀 Please share, like or tag somebody that you think this will help :) Much love ❤️

#tbt sitting here reminiscing of times sitting on English bay in Vancouver on a nice hot summers day ————— I get asked quite a lot if I miss vancouver, and I do, but have you ever had one of those experiences when you just find out so much about yourself? ————— I love vancouver, and I do miss it, BUT I believe if I didn’t come home, I’d never be doing what I am doing now, a job I LOVE - helping people on the daily ————— If there’s one thing I’ve learnt in the last little while is to really be careful of what you wish for, because it’s true, if you want and wish for it hard enough - it will happen! And sometimes it’s not what you actually want! —————— Stop wishing your life away and act in the now, be happy today, be present today, and stop giving yourself a hard time! Because really it’s not worth it ————— This life is too short to be doing ANYTHING that doesn’t make you happy - you are in control of your own life #makeitgreat
Want to hear something NEAT? - NEAT stands for Non Exercise - Activity Thermogenesis - or basically how much you move thats not exercise - In order to achieve Fat Loss Goals, you need to be in a calorie deficit over a sustained period of time - relating to my last post, thats why frequency and consistency are so important 😀 - Improving your NEAT can play a huge role for increasing your total daily calorie burn, - Applying simple strategies such as the following can help you along your way 😎 1 - Walking to the shop, 2 - Bringing the kids outside to play, and becoming involved, 3 - Doing as much of your job standing up or walking around (if at a desk or mostly sedentary at work) Simply just moving more in your every day can play a bigger part in your journey than you may believe 😀

3 Tips to help you on your way in the gym this January: 1: Frequency You have to train frequent for your body to adapt and change, other wise its as good as a once off thing! try to aim to hit each body part two times per week That does not mean two "leg days or chest days" but try to apply some stress to each body part two times per week 2: Intensity Intensity has a major role to play in your goals. If you are looking to add muscle mass you need to be lifting heavy in a low rep range with longer breaks (60-90 seconds in a 6-12 rep range) If you are looking to strip body fat I would advise some higher rep ranges (anywhere from 12-20 reps) with lower rests - typically try to complete 2-3 exercises back to back and then take a rest (60 to 90 seconds between sets of 3 exercises) 3: Recovery Recovery is, to me, a major major player in results. If it is taking you a really long time to recover from your training sessions its a sign you are not eating enough or resting enough If you are a beginner you will take a little longer to recover than a seasoned gym goer, over time your body will become more efficient at recovery. If you apply those 3 simple tips into your routine and thought process when you are in the gym, you will see results, get an effective workout and if you are recovering well - you are less likely to get injured
