facebook.comA commissioned anniversary gift from a husband to a wife. To a wife who loves bees - five silver bees sharing one head made of amber. And the pendant looks like a flower petal too, what´s not to like?! :-) I really enjoy making these gifts! Any of you has a birthday or anniversary coming and struggle to come up with an original and affordable gift? Just send me a message and I am sure I will come up with some ideas for you!
Going all the way to Australia! 150mm long, 55g of silver. If you remember the photo of the miscast hoop - it was for this brooch. I had to make a new one. Also when going for my holiday, I had the pin in my hand luggage and I happened on a newbie security officer. She told me that (while minding my daughter on a flight) I could stab someone to death and the pin went into a bin ... To be honest, while being a perfectly peaceful person (fluffy kittens, puppies, tiny turtles, ... love them all), I wanted to stab her in her pretty face at the moment. Bottomline is you are looking at a completely different brooch than the originally posted wax model hehe. Thanks to Adam Parsons for localization: original found in Norway, Averoyen, just south of Ringerike.
A new awesome find from Denmark! More info after it's all silver, nice and shiny this Friday!
Aaaaand done. Just the fittings on the back are missing but the rest is done. Now to mold it and it will be cast on June 30th.
Well ... here we go again! Let's hope the casting will go right this time around :-) Another (even larger) brooch is in the works too. Photos soon!
Cross from Sweden ready for molding, only have to make one tool to do some very final touches (cleaning the crevices around the feet etc.). My daughter is playing in a pool being minded by grandparents while I avoid the disgustingly hot weather hidden in a cool room, carving waxes and drinking vintage red. Holidays! :-)
On my holidays again but working anyway. It's too hot outside so I prefer to sit at the table inside and carve. Good thing about hot weather is that I feel less guilty for drinking more beer than I should. But hey, it's holiday! ;-) INRI from Sweden 10th century. Still WIP, more photos soon!
