This a fully reclaimed/repurposed hallway mirror with a table and storage, made for good friends of mine in Ashbourne. The picture with the lamp was taken after delivery and fitting, the rest sare pictures from the workshop and of some different elements of the piece. The timber is a variety of old roof timber, pitch pine flooring from a school, some old newel posts and some fence panels. The mirror came from a b&b about 15 years ago and has a beautiful, natural pitting in one corner giving the unit a nature aged look. Even the drawer knows came from an old bedside locker from a skip about 3 years ago. I know. I'm a hoarder. It's a problem :-) the table top was scorched and the soft grain removed with wire wool to give it a beautiful, textured feel. After assembly, I undercoated various parts red, turquoise and grey. Then coated the whole thing in white primer, lightly sanded, then white gloss. Then sanded and wire wooled, starting with grade 2 wool, then grade 00, and finally grade 0000, letting the colours show through in places and the timber show through in others. Then beeswax all over.

I've been asked where the iron in serenity IronWood comes from, well, here it is!! This is a custom made, handforged handrail I've just made and fitted for some clients in Dublin. They were looking for a modern piece with a nod to the old and I believe I achieved this here. I used 25 x 25mm bar as the main uprights and handforged the fishtail scrolls in the rail and on the handrail itself. Fitted with forged supports to accommodate the granite nosing on the steps it's fitted to the side of the stair, leaving the full step free. I'm glad to say the clients, who are a pleasure to work for, are very happy with the piece, and when the client is happy, I'm happy!! If you'd like to see some pictures of the forgeing process, why not look me up on instagram #serenity_ironwood

This is a batman bed I made for good friends of mine. Well, I made it for their son, who's nearly as big a fan of batman as I am. So I was delighted to do it. Next problem is convincing my wife that we should have one. Just waiting for the painter to finish, then I can fit the lights
