Our fitting team installed this glass screen, screen was manufactured using 12.4mm laminated opal glass and was trimmed with Aluminium profile. Note the section cut out of the bottom to allow for access to radiator valves.

we removed existing patterned glass from door, original glass was installed in the 70's and was installed in accordance with the legislation of the day however current legislation requires safety / toughened glass to be installed. we replaced the glass with 6.4mm laminated opal safety glass

We removed broken glass door panels which were not made from toughened glissando replaced with 6.4mm laminated opal safety glass and we added lead with centre red diamond.

DIYERS BEWARE In a recent Court of Appeal case a farmer was found liable for having installed window glass rather than door glass in a back door he repaired. The door glass shattered and unfortunately a piece of the glass went into the eye of a young lady who was visiting the farm causing her to go blind in that eye. The Court of Appeal held that if he had hired a Glazier they would have known what standard of glass was to be installed in the door and the farmer should have had the same knowledge. This case followed an English precedent. Damages of €200,000 awarded.
