A centre of excellence in performing arts education - Ireland's future in performance; @DITConservatory DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama is Ireland's foremost centre of excellence in performing arts education, specializing in classical music, Irish traditional music, jazz, opera and drama.  

We have around 200 undergraduate students; 25 postgraduate students; 30 research students; over 800 junior students (ages 3–18); and 150 adult part-time students.  

Students come to study with us from right across the island of Ireland, from Antrim and Donegal to Kerry and Cork – and we attract international students from all over the world.  

We have the largest music research department in Ireland, and we are home to the Research Foundation for Music in Ireland (www.musicresearch.ie) – the national centre of excellence for the study and performance of music in Ireland.

The Artistic Research Perspectives Series continues this Thursday 8 March with a presentation by Dr Michael Nielsen on ‘Improvising a Microtonal System' The event will take place from 6pm – 7:30pm in Room G17, Rathmines and all are welcome to attend. PhD composition student Yip Kimfung will also present a short paper on his research.

Congratulations to Dr. Margaret Doris and Dr. Patrick Egan who were conferred with PhD Awards and to David Scott who was conferred with the MPhil Award at the Graduation Ceremony in St Patrick’s Cathedral on 24th February 2018. Dr. Clíona Doris and Dr. Una Hunt were also conferred with the title of Professor in recognition of their outstanding level of academic distinction.
